Huawei, Leap Wireless Extend Collaboration on CDMA2000 Deployment

Chinese Huawei announced on July 11 a 3G CDMA (Code Division Multiple Access) supply agreement signed with the units of US service provider Leap Wireless. Under the agreement, Huawei will continue the collaboration with Leap by deploying CDMA2000 infrastructure for Cricket Communications and Denali Spectrum, a subsidiary and affiliate of Leap respectively, in selected cities in the United States. Financial details of the deal were not disclosed. Leap's first 3G CDMA agreement with Huawei was forged in early 2007, covering the deployment of a CDMA2000 network in the northwestern regions of the United States, including Washington, Idaho, and Nevada.
